Integrative medicine is a term often used by advocates of alternative medicine, especially when scientific medicine and public health care use alternative medicine methods. However, the meaning is quite different, which means that alternative medicine is scientifically tested and subject to the same evidentiary requirements as conventional medicine. The aim is to capture all effective therapies and integrate them with conventional care and medical science.
Science and pseudoscience in integrative medicine
This type of research is conducted at the Center at Institutet, funded by a private donation. The Center has been criticized by alternative medicine advocates for not conducting research m.in. homeopathy (because from a scientific point of view it is dead) and therefore accelerates the gift of the financier. Instead, research often deals with psychological mechanisms and the relationship between the body and the psyche. There is also another department
