The role of the lead authority in the organization of health care for students
Based:art. 2, art. 4, art. 6 sec. 1-2, art. 12 of the Act of 12 April 2019 on healthcare for students (Journal of Laws of 2019, item 1078) is provided at school and includes:
- preventive health care,
- health promotion,
- dental care.
The nurse of the teaching environment or the school hygienist provide preventive health care for students in a health prophylaxis office located at the school, and in the absence of a health prophylaxis office at school, in a place specified in the contract for the provision of health care services.
The dentist takes care of the students in the place specified in the contract for the provision of healthcare services. This place is:
- a dental office located in the school,
- a dental office outside of school or dentobus, run by an entity performing medical activities cooperating with the school.
- The governing body in the organization of healthcare for students is the body that ensures the organizational conditions of this care and provides students with the possibility of using:
a health prophylaxis office at school, which, on the basis of an agreement, provides a teaching and educational environment to a nurse or a school hygienist free of charge;
dentist’s office – in the absence of a dentist’s office at school, the governing body concludes an agreement with the entity performing medical activities providing health services in the field of dental treatment for children and adolescents financed from public funds, which defines the manner of organizing the provision of services.
The role of the school head in the organization of health care for students
Based:art. 4, art. 7 sec. 2-4, art. 11, art. 17 sec. 2, art. 18 sec. 1-4, art. 21-art. 22 of the Act of 12 April 2019 on health care for students (Journal of Laws of 2019, item 1078);
art. 9 (1) – (2) of the Act of 6 November 2008 on the rights of patients and the Patient’s Rights Ombudsman (Journal of Laws of 2009, item 417), which reads:
art. 9. 1. Patients have the right to be informed about their health condition.
2. A patient, including a minor who is over 16 years of age, or his legal representative, have the right to obtain from the doctor accessible information about the patient’s health, diagnosis, proposed and possible diagnostic and treatment methods, foreseeable consequences of their application or omission, results. treatment and prognosis.
The school principal in the organization of health care for students:
is an entity providing organizational conditions for this care;
supervises the correctness of providing parents of students or adult students, at the beginning of the school year, with information on the scope of health care and the right to object to the preventive health care and dental care provided to students in the field of preventive dental services for children and adolescents up to the age of 19, including in the dentobus;
supervises the placement of the above-mentioned information in a place generally accessible at school;indicates to parents of students or adult students the relationship of dental care in the field of generally available services for children and adolescents up to the age of 18, with the required written consent to this fact, expressed before the provision of this health service,
